The Managing Director, Victoria Smith, established Astara Training Ltd in 2013. A dedicated Social Enterprise, Victoria has been successful in supporting and developing qualification delivery in a number of settings.
The Astara team has over 30 years combined experience with delivering vocational and professional qualifications, along with a firm understanding of educational systems, custodial environments and the resettlement process for HM Prison specific learning requirements.
Successful partnerships with supporting Colleges have enabled the securing of national funding, which is used for the strategic development within Her Majesty’s Prison Service, and beyond through our effective Academy programme.
The Astara Professional Development team offer a comprehensive qualifications delivery to support student’s looking to progress. We offer a range of vocational courses, Teacher Training, Assessor and IQA training and Management up to Level 7 alongside apprenticeships to complement employer needs. We have a number of courses nationally.
We are proud to work with a number of projects throughout the UK which engages with young people who are currently not in education, employment or training (NEET). These programmes look to offer a range of holistic experiences alongside some quality training in life skills, cookery, money management, English & Maths with a view to progress into traineeships, apprenticeships, college or employment. Accredited courses are available on some programmes which include CSCS card, First Aid, Customer Service based skills and Health, Wellbeing & Fitness.
