A few quick facts about our Academy programmes in Her Majesty's Prisons
Social Enterprise committed investment, such as our successful Level 3 Personal Trainer Scholarship programme and Staff development

Astara is a nationally recognised company working in over a ¼ of Her Majesty’s Prisons with their Academy Programme.

We have developed effective working partnerships with Gymnasiums and strategic departments to support the educational development of ex-offender learners mainly in the health, wellbeing and fitness sector, supporting opportunities for ‘Through the Gate’ and beyond.

The Astara team has over 45 years combined experience within educational delivery of vocational qualifications.

We support each Prisons’ existing Departments to become a place of opportunity, which is embraced by learners and staff.

Whilst our courses require a structured delivery, they can be taught with a flexible timetable, which meets both the operational requirements and population needs of the Establishment.

We are continually striving to form effective links with internal and external partnerships to provide complete ‘Through The Gate’ support. This will potentially allow our candidates, returning to the Community the opportunity to gain either beneficial voluntary experience or secure an employed role.

Astara is recognised nationally at Tier 2 & Tier 3 under the Government’s Transforming Rehabilitation strategy.
